Are We out of Gas?
Equities at the index level have been struggling to do much of anything lately. The most recent highs have been weeks and weeks ago. There’s been lots of churn beneath the surface but I think its safe to say Tech has been lagging while Energy, Financials, Cyclicals, and the Commodity complex are seeing most of the buying interest and positive price action. Given the oscillators are now working toward the high end of the range and the VIX having put in a double bottom w/ Bullish divergences, odds are beginning to favor a stall or pull back. I don’t think the present market conditions warrant a wholesale bailout of your longs, but rather the simple awareness that its time to sit taller in the chair and tighten up stops on your longs that have been working.
